Whats in Farids bag?

Whats in Farids bag? This week, Yusuf Chouthury Shaik Farid, a Year 2 student from the Diploma in Molecular Biotechnology, shares with us whats in his bag. Who goes to Poly without a pencil case? I decided to check out what is in Farids pencil case. His pencil case is no different from any typical students in NYP. However, Farid uses his stationery for a unique purpose. Farid shared that he is a visual learner, which is why he has not one or two but five highlighters to colour his notes. Lecture notes are often too wordy and monotonous, and Farid gets tired when reading them. So, he has these highlighters to add colour when he is making these notes so that he can organize and study them better! As a science student, Farids lab sessions also involve the handling of many test tubes, hence he also uses his markers to label his test tubes.   Next we have a must-have item, lecture notes! It is essential that Farid has his lecture notes in order for him to understand his lectu...

Whats in a future designers bag?

Ever wondered what's in the bag of a future graphics designer, a visual effects artist or an animator? Look no further! Quench your curiosity as I inspect Valery Sengs bag. She is a Year 1 Motion Graphics & Broadcast Design student. Of course, you would expect a laptop! What is poly life without a laptop right? Valery here owns the Macbook Pro 15-inch. The extra 2 inches is definitely useful as she needs to create and edit pieces on software like Photoshop and After Effects. This particular model weighs a hefty 2kg! Valery will definitely train her muscles carrying this. Heres an unconventional pencil case! In it is a notebook that is vital for a course without worksheets. But look closely, the black and white stick is actually a KNIFE! Being in a design course means there is a lot of crafting and cutting. So this X-ACTO knife is definitely handy in class. She also has a pen to take notes with, and a kneadable eraser for her Fundamentals of Drawing class! On days when Valery...

Whats in your bag Nicole?

Today, we take a peek into final year Food Science & Nutrition student Nicole Lims bag. What are the essentials that Nicole has curated to get her through her Final Year Project days? Lets find out! Wallet It may not be evident from this picture, but Nicoles wallet is really small. Defending her wallet size, she explained that she did use to own a normal-sized wallet. However, that proved to be too big for her back pocket, thus she opted for a smaller and more convenient wallet. Her miniature wallet contains things of utmost importance, like her ez-link card, debit card, and waffle loyalty card for the waffle stall in North Canteen. Sweets Sweets are for chewing on-the-go. They help Nicole relieve boredom when shes working in the laboratory or moving around the campus. They also work well as a breath refresher and the sugar rush helps her to curb sleepiness.  The candy with the little blue pencil on the wrapper (shown above) is the best candy on earth, as proclaim...
