5 Places All New Students Need to Check Out in NYP

New to NYP and keen to check out what the campus has in store for you?  These five new facilities will have you covered for work, play, food and much more!

1. Cheers Singapores first unmanned and cashless outlet

Taking efficiency to a whole new level, the Cheers outlet at NYP is completely unmanned, with no cashiers and sales assistants. Students can pay for their purchases using Nets, ez-link, credit cards or through mobile payment at three self check-out kiosks. This not only increases productivity for the students managing the store, it also enables student shoppers to check out their items faster.

There are also vending machines in the store that provide a variety of warm and chilled food. Let all worries about starving on a cashless day be gone!

2. T-Junction An entertainment centre, caf and gym all in one!

This place could very well be the most interesting place in NYP with all the entertainment it offers (free of charge as well!). From karaoke rooms to an array of Wii, X-Box and PS4 games, air hockey, foosball and pool tables, T-Junction is the place to go if you are looking for some fun on campus.

NYP is also the FIRST polytechnic to have karaoke rooms for students and it sure is nice to release some stress by singing with your mates after school! If you are hungry, theres also a caf. Cheesy fries anyone?

3. Function Rooms at North Canteen Great for birthday celebrations and meetings

Newly renovated this year, the North Canteen now has two function rooms at both ends of the canteen. Air-conditioned with tables, comfy chairs and couches, you can book these rooms if you and your group of friends would like to celebrate a birthday, hold a CCA meeting or conduct project group discussions and yes, food is allowed inside!

4. Smart Learning Hub Designed by students, for students

Another new addition to NYP is the Smart Learning Hub, a conducive place for both self-study or group meetings alike. With group study rooms categorised under Smart Learning Spaces, you can easily access the rooms using your smartphone or tablet.

Each study room comes with a desktop PC, display screen, whiteboard and the option for a wired or wireless projection. If you would like a more informal and casual setting, head over to Collab at the Smart Learning Hub, a space designed with bright and youthful colours. The space has easily moveable and comfortable furniture that allows for flexible configurations and make discussions more fun!

5. ECG@Central Career Guidance at the heart of NYP

Every individual is unique and has different interests and abilities. Hence, it is important to discover what we like to do and are good at doing before we head off into the working world. At ECG@Central, students can receive guidance for academic or career paths based on our interests, aspirations, aptitude and personality. Fret not if you ever find yourself confused or unsure of what path to take, ECG@Central is a great place to go for help.
